Robotham wheels repaired Falcon to victory in Race 1

Young gun Jaylyn Robotham has taken his repaired Ford Falcon to victory in Race 1 of the Super3 Series race at Mount Panorama this afternoon.

The Victorian pounced on Gulf Western Oil pole-sitter Declan Fraser on the second lap and every lap thereafter to the finish, running in a combined grid with the Super2 Series.

The victory means that Robotham has won every Super3 race so far in 2020, having claimed all of the wins in the opening round of the series at Sydney Motorsport Park back in August.

Fraser held onto a comfortable second place for all bar the last two laps when he had a tyre go down across the top of the mountain at McPhillamy Park.

Fraser’s misfortune was Jon McCorkindale’s gain, picking up second place and promoting Brendan Strong to third place.

Jason Foley, Jim Pollicina, Mark Tracey and Layton Barker rounded out the Super3 finishers.

Another qualifying and race will be held tomorrow to round out the second round of the Super3/V8 Touring Car Series.
