Morris grabs fourth straight DS3 pole
Nash Morris wasted little time in setting the benchmark qualifying time in Dunlop Super3 at Sydney Motorsport Park.
Mentioned by his father Paul, Morris undercut his best effort in Friday’s practice aboard the team’s Ford Falcon FG with a time of 1 minute 32.2149 seconds to take his fourth pole position in a row.
RESULTS: Super 3 Qualifying
“I am pleased to get the fourth,” he said. “It was a bit scrappy, trying to put it all together.”
Second fastest as he has been since Friday, Reef McCarthy was 0.44s away from Morris while Michael Anderson looked to have made it a Falcon FG top three shutout until Blake Fardell (Holden Commodore VE) went quicker after the checkered flag was shown.
Behind the three Championship class cars, Anderson maintained the fastest time in Super3 Cup ahead of fifth fastest overall Jim Pollicina (VE), Steven Page (VE) and David Murphy (FG) who produced his best lap at the end of the session.
After her practice crash on Friday, Elly Morrow (VE) bounced back for eight overall ahead of Jason Foley (Falcon BF), James Masterton (VE), Tony Auddino (BF) and Gary Collins (VE).
Friday’s engine problems continued to plague Paul Boschert who will start 13th in his VE.
