Allen delivers Round 2 win, Hills takes Super3 Cup

VICTORY in the second race at Wanneroo Raceway has delivered teenage tearaway Kai Allen his second straight Dunlop Super3 Series round win, this time at Wanneroo Raceway.

After winning the opening round on a countback, Allen posted a more commanding performance in the first ever trip to the West by the V8 Touring Cars / Super3 Series, scoring pole position and winning both races to complete a perfect sweep of the event.

RESULTS: Race 2

His victory in Race 2 came in commanding style as he again mixed it with the Super2 Series machinery that share the same grid.

He led home a resurgent Bradley Vaughan and Blake Fardell in the 22-lap race, while Garry Hills also claimed the Super3 Cup class victory.

Hills, a local to Wanneroo Raceway, was the man of the moment with his consistent performances and Vaughan’s challenging weekend, seeing him score third outright for the round – as well as winning the Super 3 Cup Class as well.

Allen won the round overall with Fardell second and Hills third.

Hills also claimed the Super3 Cup Class over multiple class champion Jim Pollicina and former overall winner, Chris Smerdon.

Allen’s strong weekend means he now takes a 72-point championship lead into the third round of the Super3 Series – to be held on the Streets of Townsville this July.

Vaughan remains locked together with the same score as another competitor, though this time he and Blake Fardell are tied for second overall on 516 points apiece.

Jim Pollicina has moved to fourth in the championship and Garry Hills fifth.

The pair are split by just three points in the Super3 Cup standings – Pollicina in front – with Chris Smerdon third.
