Lachlan Mineeff set for maiden Super3 test at Queensland Raceway

TCR Australia young gun Lachlan Mineeff is preparing for his first drive of a Supercar after accepting an opportunity to test with main game team Matt Stone Racing at Queensland Raceway.

Mineeff will test one of the team’s Ford Falcon FG Super3 entries at its home circuit tomorrow in an extension of the relationship between he and Matt Stone Racing, which began at the Winton round of the Repco Supercars Championship where the 19-year-old worked within the team.

Vastly experienced in Formula Ford, Production Car, Time Attack and TCR competition, Mineeff is regarded as a rising star of the sport.

Career highlights for Mineeff include a class victory in the 2021 Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour production car event and was a previous round winner in the Australian Formula Ford Series back in 2019.

He currently competes in the popular Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series in a Volkswagen Golf GTI.

“Testing a Supercar for the first time is exciting and I grabbed the opportunity with both hands,” said Mineeff.

“It’s my first time driving anything on track with a V8, which is cool and it’s similar in horsepower to the Time Attack car I drove earlier this year. In terms of lap times the whole package is pretty serious, so with the history surrounding those cars and the team this opportunity is an exciting one for me.

“You’ve always got to keep your options open in motorsport and a very good example of that is TCR, which came up quite recently. It’s really great to meet the Matt Stone team and get some laps because you never know what may happen in the future.

“It’s quite funny the test will be at Queensland Raceway and that’s where our next TCR round will be, but even just any laps at that circuit are good.”
