Firsts confirmed on QR schedule
A jam-packed schedule has been confirmed for the Shannons SpeedSeries’ fifth round for the 2023 season at Queensland Raceway next month.
Six national categories will make the trip to the sunshine state for the event where more than 25 hours of action-packed racing will be staged across the three days.
Making up the star-studded bill will be a host of regular categories, such as the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series, National Trans Am Series, Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia, Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS, Kumho V8 Touring Car Series and the combined Mobil 1 Australian Production Cars and Monochrome GT4 Australia Series.
Most of the categories will take to the track for the traditional format of two practice sessions, a qualifying session and three races across the weekend, while Trans Am has opted to add an extra race to its schedule for the first time this year, making it a total of four races.

GT World Challenge will also mix things up compared to previous rounds, with a unique Top 10 Shootout to be introduced ahead of its hour-long race on Sunday afternoon.
Friday boasts the busiest day of the weekend with a mammoth 14 practice and qualifying sessions throughout the day, before the combined APC and GT4 series get their first race for the weekend underway in the afternoon.
Another fan favourite, the traditional Production Cars ‘Fight in the Night’ is also on the schedule for Saturday, with a night race beginning after sunset at 5.55pm AEST.
While there is plenty of racing action to keep fans entertained, the round at Queensland Raceway will also welcome Matt Mingay and the Hot Wheels Stunt Team, who will put on four exciting shows throughout the weekend.
As always, Stan Sport will provide live, on demand and ad-free coverage of the event on Saturday and Sunday, with Saturday’s broadcast kicking off at 11:30am AEST in time another thrilling edition of TCR qualifying and run through to the end of the APC and GT4 race two at 5:25pm.
Fans will also be able to watch Saturday afternoon’s action live and free via 9Gem from 2pm to 5pm AEST.
Sunday’s broadcast will begin with the newly introduced Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS Top 10 Shootout at 11:40am, before the rest of the day’s action gets underway running through to the final Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series race at 4.20pm.
