Chris Delfsma V8 Touring Cars Qualifying Race Two/Three – Mallala Motorsport Park, South Australia, May 13-15

After a dismal start at Mallala last weekend things did not get much better for Delfsma and his Century 21 Ford Falcon AU ex V8 Supercar in the combinations first visit to the popular South Australian race circuit for round two of the Kumho Tyres V8 Touring Car National Series.

A bad run in qualifying was only the precursor to a poor first race outing where he was not only turned around by another competitor but then suffered the same fuel pressure problems that plague the car at the first round in April.

Coming off the back of the second row grid Delfsma made an electrifying start picking off half a dozen places and seemingly looking good to get well into the top five. But then the fuel problem hit again and all he could do was limp onto the finish.

“Im not sure I havent had a more frustrating race meeting knowing that I can run on the pace of the front runners and I can get the car away strongly then falling away due to a mechanical issue in every race Delfsma lamented. “It is very disheartening.

It was a similar tale in race three. A great start and then no speed. “So far I have done everything that has been asked of me and without this one issue driving everyone crazy Im sure the results would have been very different he levelled frustratingly. “Still if there is something I can take away from these events its the fact that so far I have finished every race I have started in this car.
