ALBURY-BASED race team Brad Jones Racing today confirmed it would field a car in the 2016 Kumho Tyre Australian V8 Touring Car Series.

The team will become the first to field cars in all three levels of V8 racing – the V8 Supercars Championship, Dunlop Series and Kumho Series.

Brad Jones Racing has grown from a one-car operation in V8 Supercars in 2001 to six cars across the main championship and Dunlop Series.

The team will break new ground next year by competing in all three categories. It will field three V8SC entries, three cars in the DVS and one in the Kumho Series, which uses superseded V8 Supercars that have previously raced in the top two tiers of V8 racing.

2016 Schedule

THE Kumho Tyre Australian V8 Touring Car Series has a fresh five-round calendar for the 2016 series with two exciting, significant changes over previous years.

The series will compete at V8 Supercars Championship events next year for the first time, supporting the V8 Supercars at Winton in May and Queensland Raceway in July with live television coverage on FOX Sports to be included.

Another major addition to the 2016 calendar is the category’s debut appearance at the Muscle Car Masters, which next year will be held on the last weekend of October for the first time in the event’s decade-long history. It will form the final round of next year’s series.

The 2016 V8 Touring Car Series will be contested over five rounds in three states:

Round One Sandown, VIC (Shannons Nationals) April 1 - 3
Round Two Winton, VIC (V8 Supercars) May 20 - 22
Round Three Queensland Raceway, QLD (V8 Supercars) July 22 - 24
Round Four Phillip Island, VIC (Shannons Nationals) September 9 - 11
Round Five Sydney Motorsport Park, NSW (MCM) October 28-30
