Morris tops first Super3 session in close Friday contest
Nash Morris has topped his first ever session in a Touring Car, leading the Dunlop Super3 pack in the afternoon practice session at the NTI Townsville 500.
Morris’ 1m17.0520s best saw him edge out practice one fast man Michael Anderson by 0.2 seconds to lead the way as the field now shifts attention towards the first qualifying session on Saturday.

Morris’ fastest lap was less than 0.5 seconds behind the Super2 series pack in an impressive performance for the OzLand Group supported Falcon.
Anderson was in close company in second position, while Blake Fardell was the big improver between practice one and two, jumping to third position at the end of Friday.
Jason Gomersall was less than one second from the pace in fourth, his Falcon just edging out Chris Smerdon who was fifth.
Reef McCarthy closed the margin to the fastest cars in sixth position while Brendan Strong, Steven Page, David Murphy and Gary Collins completed the top-10.
Attention now turns to the first of two qualifying sessions, the Race 1 grid to be decided by a 10-minute session that commences at 10:35am.
The third race of the 2021 Dunlop Super3 series then commences at 2:25pm with coverage live on Channel 7 and Fox Sports 506.
