Morris extends lead with Race 1 win

They are first and second in the Dunlop Super3 Series and that is the way they ran throughout race one of round four with Nash Morris leading Reef McCarthy all the way.

Morris in the Triple 8-built ex-DJR Ford Falcon FG crossed the finish line three and a half second ahead of his points rival McCarthy who was driving an Image Racing ex-FPR FG.

RESULTS: Race 1

Third and first in the Super 3 Cup class was Michael Anderson (ex-FPR FG) while Blake Fardell brought his ex-PMM Holden Commodore VE to the line fourth after trailing fellow Holden driver Jim Pollicina after the opening lap.

Behind Pollicina was David Murphy (FG) and the Commodores driven by Elly Morrow, James Masterton and Gary Collins. Steven Page (VE) was running sixth but after a premature getaway at the start was forced to take a pitlane drive-through penalty.

After a spin at turn 10 which resulted in a brush with the inside concrete wall, and a quick pitstop to check the damage, Jason Foley brought his Falcon BF home eleventh behind Page.

It was a short race for Tony Auddino whose BF expired on the main straight after just one lap, and Paul Boschert only lasted four laps in his troublesome VE.

The Dunlop Suepr3 Series returns for a further qualifying session and race tomorrow at Sydney Motorsport Park.
